Media Center Policies and Procedures
Circulation
We have student ID photos inside our circulation system, so all a student needs to check out a book is their alpha code. If their photo comes up, we can verify their identity that way. If their photo does not come up, we ask them to show us their ID, which students must be wearing at all times.
Check-out limit: 10 books
Check-out duration: 3 weeks, but you can renew for an additional 2 weeks if the book is not on hold.
Overdue fines- We do not charge overdue fines, but if a book is 60 days overdue, we assume it may be lost and you will see the cost of the book in Destiny. If the book is returned, nothing is owed.

We have a lamination machine. Students are welcome to leave us things to laminate. It is $0.50 per foot that you want laminated (with a minimum charge of $0.50).

Technology Use/ BYOT
The media center is the technology hub for our school, so students are allowed to use their own technology at any time as long as they are not disturbing others and are following the district technology guidelines. Laptops are welcome and encouraged. All personal property is the responsibility of the student. Students check out 1:1 technology from the media center and bring devices to our front desk when they have issues with them.
Lunch, Before School and After School
Students are welcome to visit the media center when class is not in session as long as they are contributing to an atmosphere that promotes learning.
We are an active media center and silence should not be expected, however we do have areas set aside for quiet study. See Mrs. Murray if you need to use a silent area.
Please, no food in the media center! Drinks with lids are allowed, but students are expected to be responsible and careful not to spill.
We are typically open from 8-4 daily, but we do have to close periodically for meetings and testing.
